Organize Your Storage Shed

We have a small storage shed made by Suncast that we bought about a year after we moved into this home. We bought it primarily to store the new lawnmower and a few other yard tools so that we wouldn’t take up valuable garage space. We didn’t however, buy the shed accessories that came optional with the shed. Until recently.

Here is a before picture of our shed. You can see that without any organizing accessories, things just kind of spread out and lean around the sides of the shed, waiting to topple over. Also, everything must sit on the floor, wasting valuable vertical space.

We purchased the hanging organizer, the shelves and the loft shelf. We had to make a small adjustment to fit the loft shelf… since it’s so short, there is no overhead beam where they indicated to hang the loft from, so we added one. Otherwise, assembling and inserting these organizing accessories was a quick and easy project.

Look at the shed now! It’s neat and organized. And in fact, we have a bunch of space to put stuff. What, I’m not sure just yet. I’m sure I can find some additional yard supplies that would love to live in the shed.

My favorite accessory for our shed is the hanging organizer on the wall. It’s super sturdy and I was able to fit all of our shovels and rakes and even our weed whacker on it.

I hope this example shows you how a few simple organizing accessories can make all the difference… in a shed, garage, kitchen, bedroom, closet, or wherever!
