Monthly Mission - Reviewing the first six months (and summer break)
Can you believe it’s July already? I certainly can’t! The year is flying by so quickly.
I thought this would be a good time just to check in and see where we are in comparison to where we started. Have you made any improvements? Are they sticking?
Let’s use July to review and catch up in the areas you’d like to focus in before we forge further ahead. This is not a race, and any improvement is better than none. However, I know for myself, that if I work in an area and get it looking nice, if I don’t revisit it, soon enough, it will most likely start collecting clutter again. So it’s always good to check back in.
One idea for this month would be to spend 15 minutes in each room decluttering to help bring things up to speed. I know, some of our rooms can use more than 15 minutes, but we have to start somewhere! Besides, it’s summer! We also want to spend some of our time away from work actually enjoying ourselves and playing with our friends and family.
These are the areas that we’ve covered so far this year:
- January – Living room
- February – Bedroom and closet
- March – Kitchen
- April – Home filing system
- May – Garage
- June – Calendars, Meal planning, Routines
I would suggest spending a little time in each of these areas tidying up. Even if it’s only enough to toss some items and clear a corner. Even clearing off a table or dresser can feel really great. And then be sure to relax with a good book or have a BBQ with some friends.

Until next time, happy organizing!
