Welcome to the Plan-and-Organize-Life.com Newsletter. I hope you enjoy getting the newsletter and that it helps to keep you on track with your organizing goals. Remember, you can get a lot done in only 10 minutes of decluttering and organizing! Table of Contents -Introduction
Introduction It has been a crazy last two weeks! After finally finishing the tile entryway ourselves (after a lot of sweat and a few tears), we had to move furniture so the new carpet could be installed. We opted to do the bedrooms one weekend, and the living room areas the following weekend. Talk about living amongst clutter and chaos!! The first week I moved everything out of the bedrooms and removed all the baseboards. Our entire house was in our living room. It reminded me of those hoarder TV shows where people must follow a small path through their homes. I did not like it one bit! Once they were done with the bedrooms, we had to install the new baseboards and move all the furniture back into the bedrooms, as well as all of the living room furniture and stuff. Now, the bedrooms were bursting with clutter and chaos! This past weekend they completed the carpet installation and we finished up all the baseboards and we’re in the process of putting the house back together. Phew! We are also trying to do another round of decluttering as we put things back into place. We enjoyed the open clean space so much that it would be a shame to fill it all back up again with stuff we don’t really need. What a learning experience in regards to owning more stuff than we really need or use. Time to let go of some more clutter! On another note, school starts in a couple weeks for my children and it’s time to put up my new calendar! With kids in
school, it just seems to work best for me to start a new calendar in August and put in all the school information for the rest of this year and into next year. This is the calendar I’ve been using for the past few years and I love it:

Visualize Your Organized Home
Sometimes the idea of getting organized can feel like a big chore, and it can be easy to get side tracked and forget what you’re working toward. Here is a fun little exercise to help you keep focused… make a vision board. People use vision boards for all kinds of things they dream about having in their lives (careers, homes, cars, etc.), so why not use one to help envision your home and the way it’s organized? The idea of the vision board is to put together pictures and ideas of what you want your home to look like and how you want it to feel. You can take a little time and collect pictures of homes and organizing ideas from out of magazines or pictures from the internet. Print them out and paste them onto a piece of poster board, or tack them up on a dedicated cork board. Place that home life vision board where you will see it several times a day to help remind you what you’re working toward. Imagine how your home will feel as you get closer and closer to that goal. You can also add inspirational quotes that speak to you and inspire you to keep moving towards a more organized home and life. When you’re in the midst of not feeling like working on decluttering that closet, take a look at your vision board and feel how good it is to see yourself with an organized closet. It might just help you get over that hump.
