Are You Organized Enough?

Have you wondered, just how organized is organized enough?

Well, only you can answer that for yourself. It depends on each individual person’s desires and goals.

What are some of your main reasons for wanting to get organized?
  • To spend more time with family?
  • To be able to cook meals in your kitchen easily and not order out so often?
  • To be able to pay your bills on time and find all your paperwork as needed?
  • To conquer that mountain of laundry and streamline a system to make it an easy chore to manage?
  • To keep the toys put away neatly every day?
  • To be able to park a car in your garage?
  • To work comfortably in your home office?

There are a lot of reasons people want to get organized, and they are all legitimate. And there are probably some areas of your home that stress you out more than others.

Make a list of why YOU want to get organized. Exactly what parts of your home or life tend to stress you out or trip you up? Perhaps you would feel a lot less stress from simply having your garage and kitchen organized, but the rest of your home and life doesn’t bother you. Then for you, getting those areas organized is probably “organized enough” for you. Or perhaps, getting your groceries and meal planning under control will reduce a lot of stress for you. Everyone is different. So take a couple moments to think about it. Ask yourself the question: “If only I could get my _______ in order, my life would run so much more easily!” Jot down the answer(s) to this question.

You now have your basic goals to getting organized, the “big plan”. Keep your organizing focus on these areas and conquer them first. Once you’ve tackled them and start to feel the benefits you can decide for yourself if it’s enough or if there are other areas of your life you’d like to work on.

Just remember, we don’t do perfection around here. There is no pressure for you to have every single corner of your home ready for an impromptu visit from Better Homes and Gardens! We live in our homes daily, and they need to function for us, not for anyone else.

So, are you organized enough? Or do you still have a few things you’d like to get under control?

Monthly Mission - The Home Filing System

This seems like a great month to talk about the Home Filing System, with taxes due and all. (You have done your taxes, right? If not, you still have a few days.) Anyway, we deal with a lot of paper in our lives and it’s helpful to know exactly what to do with it all and how to manage it properly to make that part of our lives less stressful.

Join us in our monthly mission for April, to conquer the paper in our homes with a home filing system!

Here is the link to getting organized together in April

Until next time, happy organizing!

Sincerely,

Tracy Greene
