Welcome to the Plan-and-Organize-Life.com Newsletter. I hope you enjoy getting the newsletter and that it helps to keep you on track with your organizing goals. Remember, you can get a lot done in only 10 minutes of decluttering and organizing! Table of Contents -Introduction
Introduction April is totally slipping away from me! We had an impromptu trip at the beginning of April to make up for the lack of skiing last time we went up to the snow. Then, a busy work week, and then last weekend was busy with catching up in the house and my daughter’s birthday! This week I’m home with the kids for their spring break and I hope to get something productive done, starting with this quick newsletter to everyone! If you’re in the USA, taxes are due in a few days! Hopefully, you’re already on it. Did any of you take anything away from Denise Linn’s short videos? I know that I went into my kitchen and cleared out a counter corner that had been collecting empty jars, and cleared off some bottles that had been waiting to be hand washed. That short little 15 minutes of clearing made a noticeable difference. Lots of these little steps will make our homes feel better. The Monthly Mission – Home Filing System Since you’re going to be going through all your important paperwork for your taxes, why not organize it as you do so you’ll never have to fumble looking for paperwork in the future. We’ve been in this house for a little over a year and a half and I’m feeling like I need to reorganize a few things. I swore that when we moved in, I wouldn’t just throw things into closets and leave them there for the next 10 years like the last house. Well, I feel like we’ve done a much better job. However, as I now go into closets, drawers and cabinets, I see that some of them could use a good purging and reorganizing.
You get the idea. Do you have any drawers, cabinets or closets that bother you? Or areas that you’ve just become so numb to and have become accustomed to ignoring the chaos? My goal this week is to sort through a few of these places in my home. I’m expecting some of the smaller drawers and cabinets to only take 15-30 minutes. My clothing will definitely take a bit longer, but hopefully not too much since I did do the Kondo Method purge before we moved. Even if you don’t have a week off, maybe while you’re waiting for something to sauté on the stove, you can sort through a cabinet or drawer that needs a little attention. Hopefully we can all find a little extra space, a little better functionality, and a little joy from accomplishing these smaller organizing challenges. One little space at a time, we’ll make progress.
